We are award winning  designers  from a number of diverse and experienced backgrounds whose dedication and passion for interior design  show in the work we create. We each hold resumes that are the result of years of practice in Jacksonville and throughout the country  giving  Designmind  true hands on experience. It is our real experience and commitment to quality design that has made us successful in all the diversified project types we design.

As a boutique  design firm we have the unique distinction of delivering large & medium-scaled projects with a personal hands on touch. We pride ourselves on using a combination of the best time-tested methods and approaches with a fresh perspective for each client. Larry Wilson

IIDA, ASID

Larry Wilson received his Bachelor of Design Degree in Interior Design from the College of Architecture, University of Florida in 1976.  After practicing in Houston, Washington, DC, and New York City, Wilson relocated to Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Wilson has completed projects in New York, Chicago, California, Colorado, North Carolina and the Bahamas. He has been honored with the prestigious Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design. He has been recognized by IIDA, ASID and AIA. Mr. Wilson has been published in national & regional magazines, including Hospitality Design, Lighting Design & Application, Lodging, Interior Design, Architectural Digest (Spanish edition),  Florida Architecture, Florida Design, Florida International Style, Jacksonville Today, Metro, Florida Home and Garden, Florida Caribbean Architect and Arbus, as well as in the books, Stories of the Year, Successful Restaurant Design, Hospitality & Restaurant Design, Color Planning: An Integrated Approach to Designed Spaces and The Business of Interior Design: Case Studies of Practice.

Mr. Wilson was honored with the Bud Merle Foundation Award 2003 for leadership and Design Excellence in the State of Florida.  He was honored as Alumni of Distinction, College of Design, Construction, and Planning, University of Florida 2002. He was awarded the ASID Medalist Award, the highest honor bestowed by ASID on a professional member for outstanding service & contributions to the chapter.

Wilson has served on several advisory boards, including the Advisory Board to the Interior Design Department, College of Design, Construction & Planning at the University of Florida and the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville. He has been appointed Chair to the Mayor’s Committee on Art in Public Places. He has served a Trustee on the board of the Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art. He has been a national spokesperson for ASID related to hospitality and lighting design.  He has been an IIDA juror for the new product design competition at the national Hospitality and Design Expo in Las Vegas for three years. He has served as the IIDA National Hospitality Forum Advisor. He was also past Chairman of Ethics and Appellations for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), past President of the Florida North Chapter of ASID and past Director of the Jacksonville Chapter of ASID.  He most recently served as the Membership Chair for the New Mexico Board of ASID, New Mexico.

Larry currently serves on the Board for the Jacksonville International Airport Arts Commission

Also an artist, Wilson has exhibited in national museums and galleries included the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, Jacksonville, Fl., MOCA, Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, The Fine Art Museum of the South, Montgomery, Alabama, The Alexander Breast Museum at Jacksonville University and The Nathan Wilson Gallery at Florida Community College in Jacksonville.
